C.W. Groves and Son represents over 140 years of gardening history in West Dorset through six generations. The Firm of C.W. Groves and Son was founded in 1866 by the great, great grandfather of the present owner of the firm Clive Watt Groves in the village of Piddletrenthide near Dorchester, Dorset. Its main concern was growing plants for seed distribution.
Now a fully stocked, modern Garden Centre and Nursery, Groves is a great place to find whatever you need for your garden or for a great day out. In our shop you will find everything you need to help you in your garden, from all the usual gardening essentials, such as tools, hardware and compost to those nicer things in life such as furniture and barbeques, not to mention an excellent display of house plants to brighten up the dullest corners of any room...
Take a stroll under our amazing rose pergola or sit and relax for a while next to our giant Koi Pond. Our newly constructed Solar Dome houses the National Collection of Viola odorata and Parma Violets open for public viewing between January and April. On the way to the dome you can see our experimental potager developing as we try out traditional and modern techniques in vegetable gardening.
The Garden Centre and Nursery can be found on the A35 amongst the beautiful hills of West Dorset. Located south of the market town of Bridport, North of the World Heritage, Jurassic coast of West Bay.
