Our SOLARDOME® is a state-of-the-art greenhouse. The unique shape of the SOLARDOME® means that it creates a much more efficient environment for growing plants than a traditional greenhouse. The angle of the panes of glass mean that the plants are receiving maximum light at all times and the shape of the dome means that the air can be up to 40% cheaper to heat during the winter.
The SOLARDOME® is the perfect structure for coastal locations. The aluminium frame is non corrosive and there are no overlapping panes of glass to get chipped or for algae to grow between. The geodesic shape also makes for an extremely strong structure, able to withstand winds up to 120mph. They do not need strong foundations, ideally just a concrete base, and the smaller domes (including ours) rarely require planning permission.
There are a number of sizes available; ours is 4.5m diameter by 3m high and costs around £7,400. They are available in larger sizes up to 10m diameter. There are a number of optional extras & finishes, to make sure you get exactly what you are looking for.
The SOLARDOME® has a number of uses from research facilities used at Bangor University, to a modern alternative to a conservatory, ideal for housing a small swimming pool or perhaps a hot tub.
