Now you can turn your household food waste into top quality garden potting compost, quickly, easily, cost effectively and in an environmentally friendly manner from these wormeries. We have to different makes available, Worm Works & Wiggly Wigglers.
Using worms to compost food waste is a very successful and popular method used throughout the world. It works because it is simple. You take some worms, put them in a box and add your food scraps. The worms eat the scraps and digest the food. The end product is the very best potting compost available anywhere.
Worm Works
The Worm Works operates simply. There are three trays. You place some worms in the bottom tray along with some food scraps which the worms eat. Once they have finished that food they move by themselves up to the next tray into which you have put food and the first tray is now ready to use as compost. You simply keep the system going and the liquid fertilizer gathers in a chamber at the bottom where there is a tap to drain it into your watering can.
The Worm Works is constructed from high quality recycled plastic, with a limited 5 year warranty on materials and workmanship. It is very simple to assemble and can be stored inside or out.
The Worm Works requires only a little effort - perhaps 15 minutes a week. It will even look after itself while you go on holiday. The price of all our wormeries includes the price of the worms. We keep the wormeries here at the garden centre and will send them out immediately with the order. However the worms are kept by the Worm Works. Included in your starter package is a voucher of your worms. Once you are ready to receive your worms simply fill in the voucher and send it off to the worm works.
Wiggly Wigglers
Currently we have have two wormeries for sale, these are the all new Worm Cafe (now our best seller) and Can-O-Worms. Being so small a wormery can be put almost anywhere, most customers like to keep their's as close to the kitchen door as possible so that dropping their waste into the bin is as easy as possible. Anything that has lived and died can be composted by worms, but best results are obtained with soft organic wastes such as vegetable peelings, tea leaves, coffee grounds, stale bread, pet hairs and even vacuum cleaner dust! Due to their small size, our wormeries are not really suitable for composting large amounts of garden waste such as prunings. (But we do have a fine range of Garden Composters available if that's what you want to do).
Both our wormeries are proven and reliable composters the 'tray' system designs, Can-O-Worms and Worm Cafe give maximum performance and most people find them really easy to use, but the choice is up to you.
