Groves Nurseries is a family business based in West Dorset (That's some of us on the right). We in fact have a couple of nurseries, our main nursery and garden centre is in Bridport but we also have a small (but perfectly formed) plant nursery in Beaminster called Litttle Groves. We have been around since 1866 so we know a thing or two about gardening!
It’s not just us that think we are great (we would wouldn’t we), we were actually voted as having the greatest mid-sized garden centre team in the UK and judged to have the best plant area team in the South West for 2011/2012. We were even runners up in the Dorset Business Awards family business of the year 2011

With Christmas all but a dim and distant memory, it’s time to start looking forward to the spring…Its not far away…honest!
If you still haven’t made your mind up on a new year’s resolution how about this… Why not make 2012 the year you eat more fresh fruit & veg? And what could be fresher than growing your own? We have got a huge range of seed potatoes in stock right now as well as shallots, onion sets and garlic. We also stock the full range of Kings Seeds for both vegetable seed and flower seed. You can shop online or in store. Whilst growing vegetable is always popular, why not make this year the year you try your hand at some fruit? Most fruits are perennial which means you can just plant them and leave them rather than having to replant each year. We have everything from apple and pear trees, soft fruit such as raspberries and blackcurrants, even grape vines and fig trees, all available right now.
But it’s not just about food for your belly; we also have food for your soul in the form of flowers!! We have an extensive range of roses that have all been root pruned in our own nursery to provide and abundance of flowers this summer including rose of the year “Moment in time” and the ever popular “Gertrude Jekyll”. We also have our summer range of flowering bulbs available in store including Dahlias, Begonias and Gladioli.
