Soil: Well drained soil in a sheltered position
Maintenance: French Tarragon dies back in the winter months but reshoots in the spring. Protect from the worst of the winter weather. Divide established plants every other year. Trim plant in early summer to promote new growth.
Harvesting: Hardy herbaceous perennial. Pick and use leaves fresh in the growing season. Freezes well
Cooking uses: French Tarragon is an essential ingredient in Bearnaise sauce. Combines well with chicken, fish, veal, stuffed tomatoes and salad dressings.
Medicinal uses: Tarragon is a mild anaesthetic and has been used in the past to relieve toothache.
