Herbs & Culinary Plants

Little Groves NurserySomething we are very interested in at Little Groves Nursery is helping you to grow your own herbs, vegetables and fruits.  Growing your own produce is an immensely satisfying thing to do.  Whether it’s for the hobby of gardening, the cheaper or healthier way to have food, or a way of involving young people in the outdoors, it’s a fantastic thing to do!

Herbs:
Whether you use parsley with your cod, mint with your new potatoes or basil with your spaghetti, herbs are something which can enrich our lives.  They can be used throughout the home and if you know what you’re doing they can boost your health.  They can be grown in the veg garden, planted in your flower borders or grown in pots on the patio – there should always be room for herbs as they are plants that earn their keep!

At Little Groves Nursery we like to stock all the usual herbs that you would expect to see such as sages, thymes, mints, bay etc but we also like to have an element of surprise and so stock more unusual herbs from all over the world.  Have a browse at our herb section which you may buy online and see how many tempt your tastebuds!

To help you get your taste buds tingling our herbs are set out in recipe categories, such as herbs for red meat, herbs for fish, herbs for oriental cooking, herbs for italian recipes , edible flowers (great in salads, cockails, summer drinks and fruit salads), herbs for herbal teas - and many more!  We hope that this helps you to choose herbs on what you use them for, as well as those that look great!  So even if your green fingers are a little shy or rusty, why not let your tummy decide!
