An Evergreen Honeysuckle 'Lonicera japonica var.repens' is a strong growing honeysuckle with purple coloured stems and purple tinted leaves. The fragrant white flowers are also tinged with purple and bloom from spring to late summer, bearing black berries in the autumn. RHS Award of Garden Merit.
Soil: Grow in any well drained soil.
Site: Sun or partial shade. This evergreen honeysuckle is fully hardy.
Height: 8 - 10m.
Pruning: In first or second year of growth prune back to about 1 metre in February to encourage branching. In subsequent years prune in February, removing any dead wood and prune out some growth lower down to encourage new stems.
