Dark magenta flowers fade to lilac (occasionally streaked with white), in summer. Almost thornless. Little scent. Grow in humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun - Tolerates almost any soil & some shade (4-5 hours of sunshine a day).
For best flowering mulch in late winter and feed with a balanced fertilizer in spring & summer. Dead-head to prolong flowering. Prune in late winter (Feb).
Add 'Rootgrow' to the roots to give them a good start. Height: 4.5m (15ft). Spread: 3.5m (11ft). Average level of disease resistance. To combat fungal diseases, regular spraying is needed. RHS Award of Garden Merit.
