Groves 160 year School Giveaway
Groves Celebrates 160 Years with School Garden Giveaway
As part of our 160-year celebrations, Groves was delighted to give back to local communities by launching a special school garden giveaway, awarding ten winning schools a £160 Groves voucher each to help enhance their outdoor spaces.
Schools were first asked if they would like to take part in the giveaway, and those who entered were then featured on the Groves Facebook page. Members of the local community were invited to vote for a school from the list of entries, helping decide the ten winning schools.
We are delighted to announce the winning schools were;
Frome Valley First School, Crossways, Dorchester
Sticklands Primary School, Evershot
Thorners Primary School, Litton Cheney
St.Mary’s Primary School, Axminster
Wyke regis Junior School, Weymouth

At Groves, we believe gardening offers children so many valuable benefits beyond simply growing flowers and vegetables. Spending time outdoors, getting their hands dirty, and learning how things grow can help boost physical health, wellbeing, confidence, and creativity. Gardening also teaches patience, teamwork, and responsibility, while giving children the chance to enjoy fresh air and nature.
We are proud to support schools in creating outdoor spaces where children can learn, explore, and thrive. Whether planting vegetables, creating wildlife areas, or simply enjoying time in the garden, we hope these vouchers will help inspire the next generation of young gardeners.
Charlie Groves, Managing Director said;
"Celebrating 160 years is a huge milestone for us, and we wanted to mark the occasion by giving something back to schools and children in our community. Gardening is such an important activity for young people – it encourages learning, wellbeing, and fun outdoors. We hope these vouchers will make a real difference and help schools continue their fantastic gardening projects."
Groves would like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate a school and congratulate all ten winning schools. We look forward to seeing how their gardens grow in the months ahead.
